Residency at Number Nine Exe

I have waited for forty years to do a Fine Art Degree and am now an art student at Glasgow School of Art. This is my debut solo show and will be a culmination of a ten day residency at Number Nine Exe in Southernhay, Exeter.

This residency has allowed me to explore the boundaries of found objects by looking at the interconnectedness and relationship between materials, process and object. Critical to my practice is the idea of rhythm and reiteration, creating images whose space and depth have an ethereal quality, evoking a deeper subconscious form. Allowing this exploration in a different physical space will generate new openings where I can explore and respond to new ideas and conversations through reflection and interpretation.

This show of works, “Presence and Absence – Work in Progress” will open on Thursday 20th May 2021 from 5pm to 8pm at Number Nine Exe, Southernhay, Exeter by kind permission of Southernhay House Hotel, and will run until Friday 28th May 2021 (from 11am to 3pm daily).
